Ring Central- Profesional package- $14.99mo for 100 mins; Pro Plus- $20.99mo for 500 mins; also have you more- I think 1000 mins, didn't quote price(sorry, was more than I was looking for). Charge a one-time set up fee of $15 for a toll free number. Also offer voicemail services and call forwarding. Currently offering 7 day free trial.

Some of Rob K's info is not correct, e.g. there is no setup fee unless you need a true 800 number or a vanity number. The pricing can be seen at http://www.ringcentral.com/messaging-services/pricing.asp.

Having said that, if he is looking for fax only (and not the voicemail/voice components), then he should check out RingCentral's new brand eXtreme Fax which is cheaper.

The above site also offers a free Windows fax client that is not available on the main RingCentral site.

I have had this program for 6 months and up until last week loved it. It allows me to edit my faxes which is very important to my job and I have had no problems recieving or sending faxes. I pay $7.99 a month for my service and get 300 pages inbound or outbound.

However...

I just took on a large physicians office last week and they are sending me 20-30 page faxes at a time. I get the faxes no problem, but once I edit the fax and try to send it back I have had nothing but problems and now can't get anything through. Whether through my email as an attachment or over the internet the files are not going out. I have called technical support 5 times and each time, never got to talk to a live person and have still not have anyone call me back.

I am in jeapordy of losing a huge client without a reliable fax service and a couple thousand dollars a month. They have left me no choice but to find a better service.

Anyone know of something better that will allow me to edit my faxes, please fee free to contact me.

An update to my previous post.
After much frustration I was personally contacted by the VP of Marketing at RingCentral Boris, who was very apologetic for the breakdown in support. He assured me this is not normal and even went further to investigate the situation.

My problem was rectified and I have continued my use of RingCentral Fax services. I looked at every other fax service for days and could not find a single one that offered the services that RingCentral at such a wonderful price. I would have doubled and tripled my monthly service rates had I gone with any other carrier.

No one comes close to offering the 300 monthly pages that come included with my $7 a month. These may be used for inbound as well as outbound which no other company offered.

Thanks Boris, for your personal attention to this. I was loth to leave RCF.

Sincerely;

ph34r.gif I think Tara actually works with ringcentral.com. Why do owners of website pretend to be regular people and hype up their own business? We are not dumb.

I thought I signed up for a free trial of "extreme fax" the other night, but there were no directions as to what to do next or what to expect, like an e-mail. As I poked around on their site, I found a download button. Apparently I have all the software, but fax's fail. One went through, but the recepient said he could't read it. The copy was all flattened.

Today, I called from work and talked to a woman. We couldn't do much , not being at my computer, so she said to call any time tonight before nine o'clock, pacific. I called at 8:00 and the automated answer machine answered. ...this happened the other night too.

I am also dissapointed to find that attachments will require an upgrade. Soooo. Looks like I'm back on the phone again tomorrow.

That's all I know about Extreme Fax and Ring Central. Not happy.

I have three toll-free number accounts on ringcentral (2 business and one personal) and use it for rather low volume incoming calls and faxes. Overall I am happy with the service as it's affordable for my low volume and has features that actually exceed my needs. The only problem I've encountered is that occasionally people cannot fax to me. All my numbers are set up as combination voice/fax so I think this is the problem (some fax machines don't work well with combo voice fax systems). It may not be an issue with a dedicated fax number.
