fax micro
 I just signed up for FaxMicro, the first attempt to use it resulted in a wrong number. Is this a legitimate company? I've read one other post that said cannot get an answer to emails and no way to mail a check. I think I'll cancel, unless someone can assure me to be patient

Yeah, try again?
Seek help through chat and look for Angela. She really helped me with all my problems. Once it was resolved, I never had any problems again.
I signed on for a vanity #. It took four weeks to get it activated, but it is now working. However, their reliability has me worried. On more than one occasion faxes were "messed up". Some of my clients complained that faxes comprised of multiple pages get stuck, and the system freezes, hanging up on them. I'll stick it out for now since the dang # is on my business cards.
On a sidenote, you might also want to try "Maxemail". I've had them for six years, and I'm still holding on to my old number waiting to see what happens with FaxMicro. Maxemail never had a busy signal, archived flawlessly, and NEVER jarbled a fax. Six years straight!!! But no vanity #s. :(
FaxMicro has great prices but you get what you pay for: Fax sending does not work at all, and simply ignore your help requests; chat personnel is curtious but all they can do is ask you to "wait a couple minutes", then when no solution is found, promise a "sr. tech" will follow up... of course that never happens...
I have 10 toll free lines with them, we just use it for incoming faxing converted to PDF and delivered to our email. it was great at first, but I have 10 sales guys that refuse to use it now, tech support is very bad, do not even answer my emails any longer. faxes are not converted correctly, numbers are busy or sometimes say disconnected. it is so bad we now are just using our fax machine until my own fax server is online. Faxes are distorted, sideways, half a page, over lapped. you name it.
I have left 11 messages to speak with a manager or anyone that can make sense. no call back. tech used to tell us problem was fixed, but to reiterate, they will not even answer my emails anymore.
I would highly recommend against it.
faxmicro went down on me for 2 days :-( i talked to their tech support on fon several times, my fax got fixed on 2nd day. their techs were apologetic. for the price, i gave them another try. at least i got response from real people. am still using them... so far, it's been stable.
we'll see.
I have it on my PC at home have sent several faxes - no problem at all - I don't use it extensively but I do use it from time to time and have no complaint
i agree with sam. been a faxmicro user for sometime now and so far so good. personally, i like their referral program. have referred a lot of customers to them and i have been getting commissions regularly. B)
You currently can't fax to Italy: faxaway removes the initial "0" of the area code after the country code, which is correct (if someone is stupid enough to include it) for UK, Germany, and some other countries, but fatal when trying to fax to Italy. I've pointed this out to them and they say it is a "US dialing rule" which is ridiculous -- someone there is none too bright. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
