v.34 fax modem..

Hi,

I have the following quires regarding v.34 fax, could you please clarify them?

a. What is the reason for the modem to desire to change its modulation parameters?

b. Can a fax modem send only Sh signals (by avoiding PPh-MPh signals negotiation) in the control channel re-sync stage to send/receive PPR (Partial Page Request) message?
